Past Life
Looking at the ominous mountain of white sand, he knew he had come home. Seeing it in his dream every night since he was a young boy, he knew it like the back of his hand. He knew where the huge chunk of rock gave way to reveal the secret cave and the exact location of the Buddha. How he knew without ever setting foot on this mountain, let alone this country nobody knew.
His mother had once suggested, “Past life!” and his scientist father had told her off immediately. But even his science couldn’t explain the recurring dream.
Dear Anshu,
There are some things that just can’t be explained. Well done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Rightly said, Rochelle. Not all things in life can be explained. Thank you!
Good one. I’ve had dreams like that…they’re spooky indeed. there’s no explanation, only a sense of deja view
Oh Jelli, sometimes these dreams leave us confused and exhausted but never give us the right answers!
So, what does explain it?
Nothing really! Somethings you can’t find an answer to!
You captured that sense of deja vu really well.
Thank you Sandra
I believe in past life.
Well narrated.
Statue of Buddha sounds interesting. Heritage site for sure!
Wish you a very happy new year!
Zapped – Anita
Thank you Anita and wish you a very happy new year too! I believe in past life too!
Some things don’t need an explanation, they just are.
Exactly! Rightly said!
I do not know about the mysteries of past life but it is very interesting and enigmatic. Science does not have all the answers. Good take on the picture prompt.
Thank you Kalpana. Really, as much as we hoe and haw, science does not have all the answers.
Who knows? But then again if we knew all the answers life would be pretty dull and predictable.
Yes, rightly said. Life is interesting because we don’t get all the answers.
Mystery thickens? Reality of dreams vs. hard science!
Exactly…dreams vs science!
Some things in life is still a mystery…
True that!
There are inexplicable things that we experience. Well done, Anshu.
Thank you Dale. Yes all experiences cannot give us definite answers.
Mysteries are a lot more fun when we don’t try to explain them away 🙂
Well said, Linda. Mysteries are more intriguing when kept a mystery.
An intriguing story, I want to know more. There are many unexplainable phenomena in this world, for sure!
Thank you Brenda. Glad you found it intriguing.
Perhaps he is the next dali llama? This child clearly has some special gifts.
A few suggestions: “gave way”instead of “gave away”, and instead of “how did he know”, use “how he knew.”
Thank you so much for the suggestions. Will make the changes asap!! 🙂
Very mysterious. I like the change of voice at the end. The voice of reason?
Thank you Margaret
Thank you Neethu 🙂
Reminds me of Shakespeare’s Hamlet quote:
“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy”
Well done!
Thank you so much! 🙂
Very intriguing. Science can’t explain everything, but it makes an effort and doesn’t rely on mere ‘belief’–so maybe one day these experiences can be explained.
Hope so too! Till then these beliefs will continue to be intriguing!
