“Kids, don’t go far and come before the dusk falls.”
Brother and sister found an abandoned cottage near the woods. The broken roof, smashed window panes and missing door appealed to them. It was an ideal place to play hide and seek.
“You hide, I shall seek,” said brother.
“Are you ready?” He shouted.
No girly voice answered.
“Where are you? Don’t play your silly games with me?”
He went inside the cottage, climbed up the attic but sister was nowhere to be found.
“I had told you not to venture too far.” Mother cried.
I dread to think what has happened to her.
When kids play alone far away from home – what do you think can happen Iain! Anything or everything!!
You are on a roll, Anshu. Is the lady in red, responsible?
LOL! I hope not..there are more mischieveous elements at play!
A distressing ending
I know Dahlia, but has happened numerous times!
That’s even more distressing!
Where did she go? Mysterious!
I know Abhijit…who took her and why..we shall never know! 🙁
Mysterious and scary. Maybe she found a portal to another dimension.
Subroto, what happens when kids venture too far? It’s like the current situation in India. Out of sight, you don’t know where kids end up!
I am sure she will come back – quite where or how is another matter, of course.
Kids lost seldom come back, though parents wait in hope!
Oh dear. She should have listened to Mother.
Agree Linda. She should have listened to her mother.
She should have listened….
Yes, but kids are kids. They seldom listen.
Indeed
😉
Dear Anshu,
This sounds like sister could have come to a tragic end. Hopefully she just wandered off and will be found. Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you Rochelle. Her fate might be like of thousands of girls lost every year – no one knows where they end up – in brothels, on the streets. Shalom!
What a nightmare for a parent!
I know..no wonder parents keep their kids close to them at all times.
I did – and if my kids were not close it felt like my arm was missing – ha
Oh.. hide and seek can be a terrible game… maybe maybe she just fell asleep
I hope so too…that’s the best thing that could have happened.
Very scary ending. Well-told.
Thank you Lisa. yes, it is!
